Scandalous Economics of Gender in Conflict and Post-Conflict

11th Pan-European Conference on International Relations (Barcelona, Spain, 13-16 September 2017)

Jacqui True​ and Aida Hozic are soliciting proposals for the EISA section on Scandalous Economics of Gender in Conflict and Post-Conflict. They are particularly interested in papers combining feminist political economy scholarship on the rise of  “global Trumpism” (populist racism, nationalism, and misogyny) with research on International Financial Institutions (IFIs) and international banking in post-Global Financial Crisis and post-conflict settings.

They seek contributions linking economies of peace and of war through licit and illicit flows of weapons and refugees (aka “economic migrants”); via austerity programs and housing crises; through conflict-bound ISIS (and not just ISIS) brides and fighters, humanitarians and traffickers; and in the interstitial spaces created by remittances, debt and military bases.

Deadline for proposals is Friday, February 10, 2017.
